Well it was short lived, but it looks like the NY Times is posting that ‘Sit Down, Shut Up’ has been cancelled. I only saw a couple of episodes, and to be honest I am not surprised. We all have high hopes for anything Mitchell Hurwitz pushes out after falling in love with ‘Arrested Development.’
Start an animated series with Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator and producer of the short-lived Fox comedy “Arrested Development,” populate it with the voices of Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and other alumni of that abruptly canceled show and…well, you know where this is going. Variety reported that Fox has pulled the final episode of its animated series “Sit Down, Shut Up,” which Mr. Hurwitz adapted from a live-action Australian high school comedy of the same name. The Fox show debuted on April 19 in a Sunday time slot between the network’s hit cartoon series “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy,” but failed to match the ratings of either show. A fifth episode scheduled for Sunday has been pulled and the show is unlikely to be renewed for next season.
Maybe this would be a good opportunity for him to focus on making the movie. If he needs more inspiration he could go visit my family, they are scarily too much like the Bluths. Ideally this would maybe have Fox take a look again at bringing ‘Arrested Development’ back.
